Other Planets Outside Our Solar System Imaged

You can literally see the remote planets in these images. What kind of moment is this ? I’m still struggling to take it in. Despite endless science fiction and theories an actual extrasolar (outside of our solar system) planet has never been seen, only implied by measurements of the star.

Now we’re beginning to build a map of possible targets of exploration around our nearest star neighbours … “only” a few light years away. How long will it be before society casually refers to these worlds like they do in The Fifth Element ?
